Carolyn Prepares for the 2004 Mrs. Virginia-America

Carolyn will spend the next several months preparing for the 2004 Mrs. Virginia-America Pageant, where beauty, poise and presence is the reigning theme. Carolyn intends to present a complete and winning package at the state competition and make a successful bid to represent the married women of our Commonwealth at the Nationals in 2004. The Pageant will be held in April 2004 in Hampton, Virginia. Wish her luck!!

Carolyn Volunteers with Gilda's Club of Greater Washington

Earlier this year, Carolyn participated in outreach activities at the NBC4 Health Expo at the Washington Convention Center to raise interest and support for Gilda's Club of Greater Washington (GCGW). GCGW hopes to raise enough support open a club house in the Washington metropolitan area. GCGW offers social and emotional support to men, women and children living with cancer.

Carolyn Speaks to Families Waiting to Adopt

Carolyn spent time talking with prospective adoptive parents about the challenges and rewards of adoption.

Carolyn Wins First Runner-up at the 2003 Mrs. Virginia-America

Carolyn competed in the 2003 Mrs. Virginia-America Pageant on May 18th. If you missed it, check the gallery to see the snapshots. The Mrs. America Pageant is the only nationally televised pageant showcasing America's married women.

Hope you caught the publication of Carolyn on the cover of the March 2002 issue of HEART & SOUL, where she was dubbed "THE CONTENDER" beating out over 500 applicants for the coveted title of "COVER MODEL SEARCH WINNER."

Carolyn Jets Off

Carolyn is jetting off to a hot vacation spot to be determined. As the winner of the 2002 Mrs. Virginia-America Crest Whitestrips' "Best Smile," Carolyn will receive a complimentary vacation for up to 8 family members and friends. Crest Whitestrips is a sponsor of the Mrs. America state level pageants.

Carolyn Speaks to T.C. Williams High School Students

Earlier this year, Carolyn visited T.C. Williams HS in Alexandria, Virginia. She spoke to 9th graders about domestic and sexual violence and abuse. She engaged the students in open discussion about healthy relationships, how to show respect for self and others, and how to communicate effectively and make positive life choices.
